Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available at admissions at the front entrance, on the main floor. If you would like Security to meet you at your car at the front entrance, please call 901.544.6200. There are a limited number of wheelchairs, so they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The front is handicapped accessible with an automatic door on the right side of the entrance and a ramp from the parking lot.

Listening Devices for the Hearing Impaired

Thanks to a grant from the Durham Foundation, assisted listening devices for the hearing impaired are available for auditorium programs and public lectures. Ask admissions for a device. There are limited numbers of listening devices, so they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Special Needs Tours

These special tours are available to all interested groups of blind and visually and hearing-impaired people, but can only be given with prior reservations scheduled at least three weeks in advance. The tours are usually one hour in length and can be adjusted for special needs. Tours are not available on Saturdays, Sundays or Mondays. To make a tour reservation, please contact the Tour Coordinator at 901.544.6215 or send an email.
